BOV Deepens Gozo Engagement As Face-to-Face Banking Remains A Priority

Bank of Valletta (BOV) has held a dedicated event for its business customers in Gozo, the latest in a series of engagement sessions the Bank runs across Malta and Gozo throughout the year to gather feedback directly from customers and better understand their changing financial needs.
The Gozo event reflects a wider push by BOV to balance its growing digital offering with in-person contact. CEO Kenneth Farrugia underlined the value of face-to-face engagement alongside the Bank's digital offering. "Our customers are at the centre of everything we do," he said. "While digital channels continue to play an increasingly important role in the way customers interact with us, nothing replaces the value of meeting people face-to-face, listening to their experiences and understanding their evolving needs."
Chief Commercial Officer Simon Grech noted that this kind of engagement runs through much of how BOV operates, spanning investment and market outlook sessions, business networking events, customer appreciation gatherings and community activities. "Each interaction offers an opportunity to better understand customer expectations and respond more effectively to their needs," he said.
For Gozo specifically, the event underscores BOV's long-standing presence on the island and its continued focus on supporting local households, businesses and entrepreneurs. It also ties into the Bank's Voice of the Customer programme, which channels feedback gathered from sessions like this one into ongoing improvements across BOV's products, services and digital channels.
The approach reflects a broader trend among Malta's financial institutions: as digital banking expands, in-person engagement is increasingly being positioned not as a legacy practice, but as a deliberate complement to it, particularly in communities like Gozo where relationship banking remains highly valued.
