AlterEcho has been named the winner of the EU-Startups Summit 2026 Pitch Competition, claiming the title at the event hosted in Malta. The Pitch Competition received over 1,600 applications from some of the most promising early-stage startups in Europe, with the Danish company emerging at the top of a strong international field and underlining Malta’s growing standing as a host for major European innovation gatherings.
Over two action-packed days in Malta, about 2,400 founders, investors, and startup enthusiasts came together to exchange ideas, find inspiration, and make meaningful connections. The main event took place on the 7th and 8th May at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta, positioning the country once again at the centre of the EU’s startup ecosystem.
After a competitive selection process, 15 finalists were invited to pitch on the main stage for a chance to win a prize package worth over one million euros and the title of Pitch Competition Champion. The finalists spanned CleanTech, DroneTech, HealthTech and AI, offering a strong snapshot of where European innovation stands today.
Founded in Denmark in 2025, AlterEcho is developing a robotic embodiment platform for the life sciences sector, combining robotic avatars and AI agents to support remote work in cleanrooms and hazardous environments.
