Malta will become the epicentre of European entrepreneurship on May 7-8, 2026, as the island hosts the 12th edition of the EU-Startups Summit, bringing together 2,500 founders, investors, and innovators from across the continent.
Applications are now open for the summit's prestigious Pitch Competition, offering early-stage startups the opportunity to showcase their innovations before Europe's leading venture capitalists and secure prizes valued at over €750,000.
The competition seeks Europe's most promising seed and pre-seed startups, with 15 finalists selected to pitch their ideas on the main stage before a large audience of investors, media representatives, and startup enthusiasts. Each finalist receives three minutes to present their vision, followed by questions from a distinguished panel of high-profile VC judges.
Startups based in Europe, including the EU, UK, Switzerland, and Norway, founded within the last three years and having raised between zero and €750,000 in venture capital are eligible to apply. The application deadline is February 8, 2026.
Beyond the competition, the summit offers exceptional networking opportunities, with over 8,000 matchmaking meetings facilitated through a dedicated networking app. Attendees will benefit from fireside chats and keynotes featuring 80-plus industry leaders, including unicorn founders and top venture capitalists sharing insights on the entrepreneurial journey.
The event will showcase over 80 startups and companies in a buzzing exhibition hall, whilst two stages will host workshops and presentations packed with valuable insights from Europe's most successful entrepreneurs. Dedicated side events include networking parties held on both evenings at the Mediterranean Conference Centre's stunning rooftop.
Malta's selection as host venue underscores the island's growing reputation as a dynamic startup hub following its remarkable 1,230% surge in venture capital funding during 2025. The Mediterranean setting provides an inspiring backdrop for founders to share ideas, forge connections, and accelerate their growth trajectories.
The summit promises to be Europe's most exciting startup gathering, celebrating innovation whilst connecting the continent's most ambitious entrepreneurs with the resources needed to scale globally.
