Malta Rewards Businesses Investing In A Greener Future

Malta Enterprise has set out a variety of green and sustainable incentives designed to help businesses across the country reduce their environmental impact, improve resource efficiency, and move towards cleaner, more resilient operations. The measures give enterprises practical financial backing to invest in sustainability, positioning Malta as a jurisdiction where commercial growth and environmental responsibility advance together.

At the centre of the package is the Smart and Sustainable Investment Grant, which supports enterprises committing at least €10,000  to projects that deliver sustainability gains, strengthen environmental performance, or introduce digital solutions for more efficient use of resources.

The grant is aimed at encouraging investment in waste minimisation, sustainable materials, energy and water efficiency, and sustainable process upgrades. By covering a substantial share of upfront costs, the measure lowers the barrier for businesses looking to modernise their operations and adopt greener practices, making sustainability a realistic priority for enterprises of different sizes and sectors.

Complementing this is the Green Mobility Scheme, which supports investment in electric vehicle charging infrastructure, along with the leasing of clean and zero emission commercial vehicles.. It is available to enterprises employing at least five full time workers, ensuring the benefits reach established businesses ready to make the shift.

The Green Mobility Scheme forms part of Malta's broader climate neutrality goals, aligning private sector investment with the country's long term environmental commitments. As more businesses take up cleaner transport options, the measure is expected to accelerate the wider adoption of sustainable mobility and support the build out of the charging network that a low emission economy depends on.

Malta Enterprise is giving the country's businesses the tools to cut their environmental footprint while remaining competitive. The incentives strengthen Malta's standing as a forward looking jurisdiction where sustainable investment is both encouraged and rewarded.
