Dimitris Vassos, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Omilia, has been announced as a speaker at the EU-Startups Summit 2026, taking place on May 7-8 in Malta.
Vassos brings over two decades of experience in AI-driven customer experience to the Summit stage. He began his career at IBM UK in 1997, where he was instrumental in deploying voice technologies across more than 70 countries, before going on to found Omilia in 2002, well ahead of the conversational and agentic AI wave that has since swept the industry.
Under his leadership, Omilia has grown into one of the most advanced Voice AI and Agentic CX platforms in the world. The company's technology powers customer experience operations for major organisations across banking, insurance, healthcare, and quick service restaurants, with large-scale deployments active in 17 countries. Built entirely without external funding, Omilia has surpassed $50 million in annual recurring revenue while maintaining a 99% gross retention rate, a testament to its focus on measurable outcomes and operational performance.
Vassos has personally led the design and deployment of more than 150 large-scale AI implementations, helping enterprises modernise their customer service operations and scale efficiently without compromising on quality.
At the Summit, he will deliver a talk centred on building enterprise-grade AI solutions that generate genuine business value. Attendees can expect practical insights on cutting through the noise, earning enterprise trust, structuring AI deployments for measurable ROI, and sustaining long-term growth in a rapidly evolving landscape.
