RSM Malta and ASCS Strengthen Bridge Between Students and Business
RSM Malta has partnered with the Association of Students of Commercial Studies (ASCS), the University of Malta student organisation representing around 2,000 students within the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy (FEMA), in a move that underlines the growing role professional firms are playing in shaping how young people prepare for the world of work.
ASCS has long positioned itself around representation, advocacy and community for FEMA students, and the partnership gives RSM Malta a more structured route to engage that community directly, rather than through one-off events. The firm will take an active role in student life, across a range of ASCS initiatives, from sessions offering practical insight into day-to-day business realities to internship and recruitment opportunities that connect academic study with real professional experience.
The emphasis throughout is on direct engagement, giving students the chance to ask questions, build perspective and interact with professionals in a setting that goes beyond the traditional classroom, an approach both organisations frame as central to helping the next generation of graduates feel genuinely prepared, rather than simply qualified, for their careers.
Karen Spiteri Bailey, Managing Partner at RSM Malta, linked the initiative to the firm’s broader culture of listening, whether to clients, staff or the “professionals of tomorrow”, adding that the goal is to help students feel more confident in the decisions they make as they move into the profession. ASCS President Nicole Azzopardi said the partnership gives students “greater visibility into the professional world and supports their growth beyond the classroom.”
For RSM Malta, the collaboration reflects a wider pattern among Malta’s professional services firms of investing early in talent pipelines, an increasingly important strategy as competition for graduate talent across the sector continues to intensify.
