DC Aviation Malta has officially opened its redesigned VIP terminal and crew facilities at Malta International Airport (MIA), completing a six-month upgrade that strengthens one of the country’s principal Fixed Base Operator (FBO) sites. The launch was marked by an exclusive reception on 10 April attended by around 100 guests from across Europe's executive aviation community.
The renovation, delivered in collaboration with leading designers, has overhauled the FBO's infrastructure, equipment and layout. The redesigned premises include separate passenger and crew lounges, private restrooms, a meeting room, and dedicated management and operations offices. The new private jet lounge in Malta has been designed with high-end travel experiences in mind, combining natural materials with refined furnishings to deliver an enhanced passenger experience aligned with the visual identity of parent group DC Aviation.
A key feature of the upgraded operation is its location adjacent to aprons 2 and 3 at MIA, which allows passengers to remain in the lounge during technical stops, just steps from their aircraft, subject to applicable airport procedures. The arrangement reduces transfer and waiting times and supports the seamless travel services and fast turnarounds that modern business aviation operations increasingly demand.
"What sets our facility apart is the combination of efficient aircraft handling and a premium, highly personalised service experience," said Stanley Bugeja, Managing Director of DC Aviation Malta. "From fast turnarounds to discreet concierge support, every detail has been designed to make each visit smooth, efficient and tailored to our clients' needs." The redesign brings together premium passenger services, upgraded ground handling services and improved aircraft servicing in Malta.
DC Aviation Malta has been operating at MIA since 2008 and remains the only IS-BAH certified business and general aviation handling company in the country. It forms part of the wider DC Aviation Group, a German business aviation specialist headquartered at Stuttgart Airport with further bases in Dubai, Munich, Nice and San Marino.
