As digital assets continue to reshape the financial services landscape, understanding the technology and regulation underpinning them has never been more important. The Malta Financial Services Authority's Financial Supervisory Academy (FSA) is offering a dedicated training session on Crypto and Blockchain Fundamentals on the 1st July, a timely opportunity for financial professionals to get up to speed with this innovative sector.

Leading the session is Dr. Ioannis Revolidis, Resident Academic Lecturer at the Faculty of Laws and Director of the Centre for Distributed Ledger Technologies. With over 12 years of teaching and research experience in European Information Technology Law, Dr Revolidis brings a depth of expertise that spans digital assets, data protection, electronic technologies.

The session is designed to give attendees a solid grounding in the cryptoasset industry. Participants can expect to explore blockchain fundamentals, distributed ledgers, consensus mechanisms, and network structures, before moving on to crypto-asset taxonomies, issuance models, valuation drivers, and market dynamics. The course examines key use cases, tokenisation trends, and the growing implications of digital assets for the financial sector, including the supervisory risks that regulators and compliance professionals increasingly need to navigate.

The FSA’s training programmes are tailored for a broad audience: industry practitioners, board members, senior management, and representatives from regulatory and international institutions alike. Whether you’re looking to strengthen your regulatory knowledge or simply ensure your organisation keeps pace with the rapidly evolving digital asset sector, this session offers practical, expert-led insight.

If you cannot make this particular session, you can choose from FSA’s packed schedule of training courses throughout July, covering a wide range of financial services topics.
